Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) together with Thai Maxwell Electric Co., Ltd. (TME) to Signs Contract for the Procurement of 1,247 CSP Distribution Transformers, Strengthening the Power Distribution System and Advancing “Energy for the Metropolitan Way of Life”
On 18 February 2026, Mr Dichawat Jan-ii, Governor of the Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA), together with Mr Yong Shao Ho, Managing Director of Thai Maxwell Electric Co., Ltd., presided over the signing ceremony of a contract for the procurement of Completely Self-Protected (CSP) distribution transformers. The initiative aims to enhance the capacity and reliability of the electricity distribution system in order to efficiently accommodate the growing electricity demand across the metropolitan area. The ceremony was held at the MEA Head Office, Khlong Toey.
This collaboration represents a significant milestone in MEA’s strategic plan to develop and modernise its electricity infrastructure. MEA will procure a total of 1,247 Completely Self-Protected (CSP) distribution transformers, rated at 24kV, 3-phase, 4-wire, with a capacity of 300kVA, designed for pole-mounted installation. The project is intended to support increasing electricity consumption and to further enhance system reliability for customers within MEA’s service area.
